The World Wide Web
The World Wide Web or www born in the early 90s in Switzerland. Its role is to sort and distribute the information that exists on the internet.
The World Wide Web is based on hypertext, ie pages where you
can insert hyperlinks. These lead the user to a web page to another or to
another point of that web.
There are scripts for pages called "markup
language". The most used is HTML or "Hyper Text Markup Language"
(Hypertext Markup Language). With this script commands are given for
information to be presented in one way or another on the websites. The marks
("tags" or labels) allow to format the text and combine it with other
multimedia elements. This page is an HTML hypertext.
HTTP protocol and
addressing URL
Address Bar
The HTTP protocol is created for hypertext, hyperlinks and
hypermedia fulfill their function. It stands for Hypertext Transfer Protocol or
Hypertext Transfer Protocol. Operates on four basic steps: the connection, the
request, response and disconnection. It is considered a stateless protocol
because it stores information about the transactions you do.
The URL address used to name the location of the information
you want to access the internet through a standard set of characters. Each of
information resources on the network has a unique URL. In this direction the
browser accesses the page and we sampled.
Browsers and search
engines
To surf the Internet a program that can access web pages is
needed. These programs are called browsers and the best known are Internet
Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome.
Web pages can accommodate all kinds of information and can
contain text, video, images, or different applications. To find the required
data if you do not know the URL we will use the search servers or browsers. The
best known are Google and Yahoo.
